Filipino American journalists acknowledged at NAM’s Ethnic Media Awards

SAN FRANCISCO, California – Two INQUIRER.net columnists, TV producers, a blogger and reporter among Filipino American journalists who won awards at the New America Media (NAM), 2011/2012 NAM Ethnic Media Awards for Northern California & Central Valley for their exceptional contributions to journalism.

Emil Guillermo, also a contributing columnist of INQUIRER.net won first place in the Outstanding Commentary / Editorial Essay (English Publications Category) for his blog for the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund.

Rhony Laigo of Balita Media was Runner-Up under the Outstanding Investigative/In-Depth Story: English-Language Publication.
