2012 Kulinarya semi-finals set

SAN FRANCISCO – The Philippine Consulate General including its attached agencies, Department of Tourism, Department of Trade and Industry, Philippine National Police, and Philippine Center Management Board, with partnership with the Filipino American Arts Exposition, invites contestants to the 2012 Kulinarya Showdown.  Chefs, cooks, students and culinary enthusiasts can join this challenging Philippine Culinary Showdown.  This contest is divided into two divisions:  Professional and Amateur Divisions, and is open to residents of the United States who are at least 18 years of age.

The Qualifying Round for KULINARYA 2012 will be held on August 12, 2012 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the City View Room of the Metreon Center in San Francisco during the Pistahan Parade and Festival. The winners of the Qualifying Round; three (3) each in the Amateur and Professional Divisions, will then compete in the Final Round in December 2012. A distinguished panel of judges will be selecting the top three competitors in each division based on the following criteria: taste, creativity, and presentation. The grand winner of each category in the final round will receive a round trip ticket to the Philippines and a tour of Philippine culinary destinations, gift certificates and other fabulous prizes.
