Queen Sofia arrives at Spanish envoy’s Makati residence

MANILA, Philippines – Queen Sofia of Spain arrived at the Spanish ambassador’s residence early Wednesday evening in Forbes Park, Makati, for a dinner reception in her honor.

The queen is in town for a four-day visit to inspect various development projects funded by the Agencia Española de Cooperacion Internacional para el Desarollo,” or AECID, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

Spanish Ambassador Jorge Domecq hosted a reception for the Queen at his residence with about 500 delegates from Spain in attendance.

The queen, an official guest of the Philippine government, flew in Monday afternoon. The DFA said her visit is a “reaffirmation of Spain’s commitment towards addressing the myriad of developments and challenges (faced by) the Philippines and the rest of the world today.” Fat Reyes
