MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Monday that the abducted Filipino aid worker in Kenya and his three foreign colleagues were recovered in the Kenya-Somali border and were safe and on their way to Nairobi.

“DFA just got a call from Philippine Ambassador Domingo Lucenario in Nairobi that at 1:40 p.m. (Manila time) he was informed by the Norwegian Refugee Council (for which Costes worked) that the kidnapped Filipino Glenn Costes and his three colleagues were recovered in the Kenya-Somali border, are safe and are now on their way to Nairobi,” Raul Hernandez said in a text message to reporters.
