SAN FRANCISCO, California—The San Francisco Police Department’s initiative to partner with Asian Pacific Islanders on the issue of community safety received high marks from Chief Greg Suhr.

Speaking at the Inaugural Celebration of the Community Forums held at City Hall on June 9, Suhr, who reported San Francisco’s homicide and violent crime was down, cited the collaborative efforts of community groups as key in helping to further reduce crimes in San Francisco

The new police chief urged members of the Community Forums to focus on the youth. “You’ve been selected to be in this advisory team to help us weave a safer community,” Said Chief Suhr to 75 invited San Franciscans representing labor, faith based, CBO’s and business groups.

“We all learn right or we would not be here together so let’s bring the kids along with us,” said Suhr.
