Malacañang aide hails Indonesian terrorist’s conviction
MANILA, Philippines—Malacañang on Saturday lauded the conviction of Indonesian terrorist Umar Patek.
“Anti-terrorism is a global effort and we’re part of the fight against terrorism,” said Abigail Valte, a spokesperson for President Benigno Aquino, over the state-run radio dzRB.
Valte said Patek’s conviction was good news especially for the victims of Patek’s terrorist activities, including the Bali bombing in 2002.
“Our Armed Forces has also already made a statement that this development adds to their resolve to go after and wipe out the forces that are trying to come up with similar terrorist activities,” Valte added.
