Dialogue on the Role of Filipino Diaspora

Meet the Co-Chairs of the NY Tri-State Team of PhilDev:  Noel Vales and Marilyn Abalos.  Slated speakers include Benjie Dela Pena (Rockefeller Foundation) Michael Balaoing (PhilDev Trustee) and Marilyn Abalos (PhilDev East Coast Coordinator) with PhilDev NY Tri-State Team CoChair Noel Vales as emcee.  Consul General Mario De Leon will give the welcome.  Noel Vales will emcee.

Noel Vales has been involved with the Philippine Development Foundation since 2007. He currently serves as a Co-Chair of the New York Tri-StateTeam of PhilDev. Mr. Vales is also a practicing attorney. As a seasoned commercial real estate lawyer, he worked for several years as an associate at Am Law 100 law firms in New York City. His practice involved representing clients in real estate finance transactions, acquisitions/dispositions, commercial leasing, and affordable housing developments. He also has experience working in the compliance and legal departments at Deutsche Bank, where he covered equity research analysts. Currently, he is associated with Morgan Stanley and negotiates derivatives contracts with corporate clients involving interest rate swap and foreign exchange transactions.

Marilyn Abalos is Co-Chair with Noel Vales of the New York Tri-State PhilDev Team.  She was recently assigned as East Coast Coordinator for PhilDev.  Marilyn is also the Administration and Human Resource Manager at the Dance Theater of Harlem. In addition, Marilyn serves on the board of the New York Women’s Agenda, an umbrella organization of women’s organizations in New York, and the Human Rights Campaign, Greater New York Steering Committee, in leadership roles of political advocacy and diversity.
