MANILA, Philippines – President Benigno Aquino III promoted the country’s “It’s more fun in the Philippines” tourism campaign during his visit to London.

In an interview with Radyo Inquirer 990 AM on Thursday, Juliet Labog-Javellana of the Philippine Daily Inquirer quoted Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr. as saying that feeback from the campaign was very good.

The tourism office was receiving inquiries from many British tourists, Jimenez was quoted as saying, adding that the United Kingdom was the biggest tourism market in Europe for the Philippines.

There were already 25 buses and 50 taxis with the “It’s more fun in the Philippines” logo, Javellana said.

The timing of the campaign in London was designed for “maximum impact” because the 2012 London Olympics and  Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubillee celebration had brought many tourists and people to London, she said.

President Aquino posed for pictures on one of the double-decker buses in London with the “It’s more fun in the Philippines” logo.

Aquino was in London for a three-day working visit where he met with the Queen, Prime Minister David Camera and several business investors. He left for the United States for a meeting with US President Barack Obama.
