Immigration Commissioner Ricardo David Jr. identified the deportee as Alexander Theodore Bean, 25, who was expelled from the country on May 24 aboard a Philippine Airlines flight to Los Angeles, California, four days after his arrest in Cabangan, Zambales, by immigration agents.
David said Bean was expelled pursuant to a summary deportation order that the BI board of commissioners issued against the American on May 10. The board also ordered Bean’s inclusion on the immigration blacklist to prevent him from re-entering the Philippines.
According to David, the US embassy in Manila sought the BI’s help in deporting Bean, who is the subject of an arrest warrant issued by a US district court in Montana where he has been charged with “conspiracy to distribute heroin and possession of heroin with intent to distribute.”
Lawyer Ma. Antonette Mangrobang, BI acting intelligence chief, said Bean was also an undocumented alien as his passport had already been revoked by the US State Department.
She added that Bean had overstayed in the country as there was no record that he had applied for an extension of his stay as a tourist following his arrival on Sept. 10, 2010.
