LOS ANGELES – President Benigno Aquino III will make his first presidential visit to Los Angeles on June 8.
The LA visit, earlier scheduled on June 5 and 6, was moved to the tailend of the president’s US trip after the London leg was added yesterday.
President Aquino will be in London from June 4 to 6, then in Washington D.C. from June 6 to 8 for his meeting with President Barack Obama. He will stop in LA for a short visit on his way back to Manila.
The Philippine consulate here has started preparing for the visit as well as that of Vice President Jejomar Binay on June 2, Consul General Mary Jo Bernardo Aragon told the Inquirer on Tuesday (Wednesday in Manila).
Aragon said the consulate staff would be “very busy the next few weeks” working with the Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C. and coordinating Aquino’s meeting with the Filipino-American community and business investors here.
