A 4×12 meter image of Palawan is being showcased around the major streets of Warsaw, Poland.

Philippine Ambassador to Poland Edgardo R. Manuel launched the project which showcases the National Geographic’s winning photo of George Tapan last April 25.

The image, shot in Onuk Island, Balabac, Palawan, is mounted on one full side of a Warsaw City Sightseeing hop-on-hop-off tourist bus.

The project will run from May to July 2012, building-up towards the Philippines’ Independence Day celebrations and the Euro Cup 2012 where thousands of tourists are expected to attend.

The project has been made possible through the valuable support of Honorary Consul Edward Magiera, President of ED&F Man, and Krzysztof Szymborski of the Baltic Container Terminal, a subsidiary of International Container Terminal Services, Inc.
