MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced on Saturday that its Consular Office in Cagayan de Oro City will be suspended on June 16.

In an advisory, the DFA said that the suspension of operations on June 16 is in observance of the 75th Charter Day anniversary of the city.

“Affected passport applicants will be accommodated within 30 days from their original appointment date,” the DFA said.

The agency also advised passport applicants who need emergency or urgent consular services to contact the Consular Office via email at cdo.coclientconcerns@dfa.gov.ph.

Consular operations will resume on June 17, the DFA said.

Malacañang recently declared June 16 a special non-working holiday in Cagayan de Oro to allow residents to fully participate in the commemoration of the city’s Charter Day on June 15, which falls on a Sunday.
