MANILA, Philippines — The son of slain businessman Anson Que has submitted his sworn statement before the Department of Justice (DOJ) containing vital information to assist the authorities in prosecuting those responsible for his father’s death.

Alvin Que’s lawyer, Atty. Pearlito Campanilla said the sworn statement provides “vital information that may assist in the prosecution of those responsible for the tragic interactions and murder of his father.”

Alvin was implicated by David Tan Liao, who earlier surrendered to authorities and executed an extrajudicial confession where he admitted his involvement in the killing and identified his cohorts.

However, the Philippine National Police (PNP) had already cleared Alvin and requested that the DOJ drop him from its earlier complaint due to a lack of evidence to support Liao’s claims.

“This tragedy has caused immense pain and suffering, but we remain steadfast in our resolve to see that those responsible are going to justice,” Campanilla said reading a statement from Alvin Que.

“We would like to express our gratitude to the Department of Justice, the law enforcement agencies, and all those working tirelessly to bring different priorities to justice. Their diligence and commitment are deeply appreciated,” he said./MR
