National Competition Challenges Kids across America to Dream Up Their Coolest Invention Idea

SAN DIEGO, California—Pina-a-alam ng Time Warner Cable ang official launch ng Wouldn’t It Be Cool If…, isang kampanyang unang pinahayag sa 2012 White House Science Fair ,upang mag isip ang mga kabataan na ang Science ay Math ay kaiga-igaya, isang makabagong paraan through an ideation competition.

Minds, and .i.am FIRST, itinayag ng mga entertainer at mga entrepreneur will.i.am. Ang mga kilalang artista ay lalabas din sa mga national public service announcements na mapapansin ng mga adolescents upang maging interesado sa STEM. Ito ay hihimuk ng mga kabataan na mag submit ng mga cool ideas sa internet. Ang signature partner para sa effort na ito ay ang Boys & Girls Clubs of America, ang pinakamalaking youth-serving organization ng nation, kasamang nag-trabajo upang masimulang mag-isip ang mga kabataan sa mahigit 4,000 samahan. Youth submit ideas to the website, and those ideas are judged by a panel of experts, identifying three finalists. Additional partner FIRST will host the finalist presentation, to be held as part of the annual FIRST Robotics Championship this April in St. Louis. Finalists will present their idea to .i.am, FIRST founder Dean Kamen and other influential judges. Finally, one winner will be selected to collaborate with Fahrenheit 212, one of the nation’s pre-eminent innovation consulting firms to have the opportunity to bring their idea to life.

Ang Time Warner Cable has committed more than $100 million to addressing America’s declining proficiency in STEM through Connect a Million Minds, which aims to connect a million more students to hands-on, out-of-school science opportunities.
