MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit in Malaysia this month, a Palace official confirmed on Monday.
It will take place from May 26 to 27 in Kuala Lumpur, according to Palace Press Officer Claire Castro.

On Friday, the President and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim discussed via phone call the economic and security developments in Southeast Asia.
This included Myanmar’s post-earthquake recovery and the United States’ tariff policy.
Malaysia is chair of the regional bloc this year, while the Philippines will take over the chairmanship as it hosts the Asean summits in 2026.
