FREE LIVESTOCK, POULTRY SEMINAR
THE Department of Agriculture in Central Visayas (DA-7) will conduct a series of free livestock and poultry-raising seminars during the second quarter of 2011 at the agency’s conference area in KRC building, Subangdaku, Mandaue City.
For April, the seminar on goat raising will have two sessions. The first session on April 14 at 1-5 p.m. will cover topics such as the different breeds of goat, proper selection of breeding doe and buck, management of doe prior to breeding and goat housing/facility. The second session on April 28, also from 1 p.m.
to 5 p.m., will deal with forage and pasture establishment and utilization; and common diseases of goats.
Other topics include swine, cattle and poultry raising, which are tentatively scheduled in May, June and July.

SUMMER ARTS workshop
SM City Cebu announced the opening of its Summer Art School on April 13.
The workshops include beginners arts crafts, essential drawing and painting and advanced drawing and painting.
The beginners arts crafts is designed for ages four to seven to develop their creative interests in the visual arts and crafts. The workshop fee is P4,000, inclusive of materials.
The essential drawing and painting is designed to introduce to children aged eight to 11 the fundamentals of drawing and painting. The workshop fee is P4,300, inclusive of materials.
The advanced drawing and painting introduces professional skills and techniques in creating simple and complex drawings and paintings. This workshop is designed for kids ages 12 and up. Fee is only P4,500, inclusive of materials.
The summer arts workshop will be held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday starting April 13 until May 20 at the Trade Hall of SM City Cebu.
