MANILA, Philippines —The Commission on Appointments on Tuesday approved the nomination of Secretary Albert del Rosario as chief of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
Camarines Sur Representative Luis Villafuerte moved for the endorsement of Del Rosario’s nomination during the hearing of the commission’s committee on foreign affairs.
Del Rosario was Philippine ambassador to the United States before President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III appointed him to head the Department of Foreign Affairs.
Only one committee member opposed his nomination but it was swiftly dismissed.
