A WORLD-CERTIFIED marathon since 2019 (by AIMS-WORLD ATHLETICS®), the TCS-Clark Animo International Marathon (TCS-CAIM) again successfully held Clark Freeport’s longest-running and biggest running event in this region. According to Mr. Paw Bangsil, current President of the DE LA SALLE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION- Pampanga, ‘Aside from being a non-profit marathon, its accreditation as a pioneering Internationally-Certified Marathon Course is worth noting. This means all runners are assured of accurate course measurement honored by marathon events worldwide given the strict qualifying times of most of the world’s prestigious marathons. It will be a good qualifying marathon race if you gun for the world’s best.’ The winners for this year’s marathon are Mr.Welfred Esporma, clocking 02:55:00 and Ms. Kristine Bugna at 03:35:31.

Initiated in 2009 as CLARK ANIMO RUN by De La Salle Alumni Association-Pampanga (DLSAA-P), it attracted 600 ‘fun runners’ that jumpstarted running communities around the freeport. It was DLSAA-P’s vision to engage communities through GREEN projects around the area to benefit them for years to come. Under the ‘A TREE for every ENTRY’ banner this year, the 8,000-strong participants translate to a commitment of 8,000 trees for planting around the Upper Clark (Sapangbato) watershed area with the Abacan River Angeles Watershed Group (ARAW-ACI) and the La Salle Botanical Gardens (LSBG) located at Alviera, Porac, Pampanga as beneficiaries and partners.
