PH, Morocco celebrate 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday said the Philippines and Morocco’s 50th anniversary of diplomatic relation charts a path for future cooperation.
Marcos said this in his letter to King Mohammed VI of Morocco, the Presidential Communications Office said in a press release.

Mohammed likewise sent his regards to Marcos, highlighting the importance of the long-standing partnership between the two countries.
He also emphasized how “the past five decades of Morocco-Philippines relations stand out as a model of bilateral ties rooted in mutual esteem and fruitful cooperation.”
In January 2017, Morocco opened its embassy in Manila to further boost the countries’ bilateral cooperation.
Meanwhile, the Philippines reopened its embassy in Rabat on December 27, 2019.
There are around 4,600 Filipinos residing and working in Morocco.
