MANILA, Philippines — China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned Chinese citizens in or traveling to the Philippines against the supposedly unstable security situation and growing harassment of Chinese citizens in the country.

In a statement shared by the Chinese embassy on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China and the Embassy and Consulates of China in the Philippines remind Chinese citizens already in or are about to travel to the Philippines of the following:

While it did issue an advisory, the ministry did not provide actual circumstances and incidents citing unstable security situations and growing harassment of Chinese citizens in the country.

INQUIRER.net has sought the Department of Foreign Affairs’ comment on the matter, but it has yet to reply as of writing.
