MANILA, Philippines — A Filipino in Myanmar has officially requested to be repatriated to the Philippines following the powerful quake in the region, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs.
Foreign Affairs spokesperson Teresita Daza disclosed the matter to INQUIRER.net on Wednesday.

“One [overseas Filipino has requested for a] repatriation to the Philippines,” she said in a text message.
Apart from this, Daza said 80 overseas Filipinos have requested the Philippine government’s assistance for relocation to Yangon.
Meanwhile, 17 Filipinos from Mandalay International Academy have also requested to be relocated to Yangon. The DFA clarified that the academy would shoulder the costs.
There are four Filipinos still missing following the powerful quake.
In a separate advisory also issued Wednesday, the Philippine embassy in Myanmar said no identifications have so far been made on any rescued persons or recovered cadavers in connection with the four missing Filipinos.
A powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake rocked central Myanmar and neighboring Thailand, causing death and destruction on March 28.
