MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Embassy in Thailand warned of false reports of 10 Filipinos who died in the earthquake in Myanmar.
This came after a magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck central Myanmar on Friday afternoon.
“The Philippine Embassy in Thailand received information that there had been news reports stating that 10 Filipinos perished in the earthquake in Thailand. This is false information,” the embassy said in a bulletin on Saturday afternoon.
“As of this time, the Embassy has not received any report of Filipino nationals who were harmed by this unfortunate disaster,” it added.
