IN PHOTOS: Massive earthquake hits Myanmar, Thailand
A powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Thailand and Myanmar on Friday, leaving at least three dead in Bangkok, trapping dozens under a collapsed high-rise construction site.
The “mass casualty” tremor prompted the government of Thailand to declare a state of emergency as Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra warned of potential aftershocks.
A state of emergency was also declared across six regions in Myanmar as the ruling junta made a rare appeal for international humanitarian assistance.
