QCPD requesting takedown of pro-Duterte cop’s social media page
MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said it was requesting Facebook to take down the social media page of a police officer making posts against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and the Philippine National Police (PNP).
The posts by the officer, identified as Patrolman Francis Steve Fontillas, came in support of former President Rodrigo Duterte amid the ex-leader’s arrest by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
In a press conference at Camp Karingal on Wednesday, QCPD Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit chief Maj. Dondon Llapitan said, “Sumulat na tayo sa [Facebook] ngayon (We already wrote to Facebook now.).”

“’Yung pinaka-intention natin is to take down ’yung account niya (Our main intention is to take down his account),” he added.
On Monday, the QCPD filed a complaint against Fontillas before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office for inciting to sedition for his social media posts.
In a now-deleted post originally uploaded on March 11, Fontillas said, “To ICC and Interpol (International Criminal Police Organization), don’t even lay your finger on our Tatay Digong or else we will start the war that you can’t even imagine. This is not a warning; this is a threat!”
Further, Fontillas responded to another social media user’s comment, saying “We don’t need to resign, sir. We can use our power to overthrow the government kung may (if there’s) enough grounds to overthrow.”

“We tried all our efforts. Mayroong nakipag-communicate regarding this demeanor, but siya talaga. Wala. Sarado,” Buslig added.

Apart from the sedition complaint, Fontillas also faces five administrative cases with the National Police Commission (Napolcom) and the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
For his part, in a text exchange with INQUIRER.net on Tuesday, Fontillas said he was only exercising his right to free speech.
