DFA chief to join Raisina Dialogue in India to discuss pressing issues

For the first time, Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo will participate in the Raisina Dialogue in India.

MANILA, Philippines — For the first time, Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo will participate in the Raisina Dialogue in India.

This was disclosed by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in a statement issued early Monday.

According to the DFA, the dialogue is conducted annually by the Observer Research Forum of India and the Ministry of External Affairs of India.

The 10th Raisina Dialogue, slated to be conducted this year, will be held from March 17 to March 19.

“It is the country’s flagship international conference on the most pressing geopolitical and geo-economic issues,” said the DFA.

“It brings together prominent high-level officials, policymakers and strategic thought leaders,” it added.

The DFA said Manalo is scheduled to undertake bilateral meetings with other foreign ministers on the sidelines of the conference.

He is also expected to have an “interactive session” with members of the business community and visit the Philippine Embassy in New Delhi to observe its e-Visa operations.
