MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) is prepared to assist the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) if the International Criminal Court (ICC) issues arrest warrants for other officials allegedly involved in the previous administration’s bloody drug war.
PNP spokesperson and Calabarzon police chief Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo said they already have a process in place, following the arrest of Duterte over his alleged crimes against humanity.
“We know that apart from the former president, he also has other allies who were also charged…. Since we have already arrested the former president, we more or less already have a template,” Fajardo revealed in an interview over dzBB on Sunday.

“It just means that if Interpol asks for the PNP’s help again, the PNP is ready to assist and we will implement this warrant according to our existing law,” she added.
Fajardo further disclosed that the PNP has not received any information on whether another arrest warrant has been issued against Duterte’s allies.
Last March 11, Duterte was served an arrest warrant by the ICC over alleged crimes against humanity committed during his administration’s bloody drug war.

After his arrest, Duterte was flown to The Hague on a chartered plane, where he made his first appearance before ICC judges via video link. He was allowed to attend the hearing remotely in consideration of his long journey from Manila.
