7 arrested in Japan for raping daughters, sharing clips in chat group

Police from Aichi Prefecture in Japan have arrested seven men as of March 11 on suspicion of raping their daughters or stepdaughters and sharing footage of the abuse on social media, reported the Mainichi Shimbun.

The men are in their 30s to 50s.

They are accused of penetrative sexual assault, and violations of anti-child prostitution and anti-child pornography laws, reported the Japanese newspaper.

Four of the men allegedly violated their biological or foster daughters and sent videos of the abuse in a social media group.

The victims were between six and 14 years old at the time.

The other three men allegedly owned obscene images of minors.

The seven were in the same chat group for incest and pedophilia, and the Aichi police believe they sexually abused their daughters and other children regularly.

They were discovered after one of the men was arrested in November 2024 for suspected penetrative sexual assault of a minor, and a probe of his mobile phone revealed the group were sharing explicit videos.

The group is thought to have started exchanging information around December 2023, reported Mainichi Shimbun.
