MANILA, Philippines — Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG Director Maj. Gen. Nicolas Torre III on Thursday shrugged off the way Veronica “Kitty” Duterte lashed out at him following the arrest of her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte.
“Kaya natin palampasin ‘yun,” Torre said at a Palace briefing when asked for a comment on the incident captured on video and is now making the rounds on social media.
(We can let that slide.)

The incident occurred hours after Duterte’s arrest on Tuesday morning at the request of the International Criminal Court (ICC) for alleged crimes against humanity committed during his administration’s war on drugs.
After his apprehension at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Duterte was transferred to Villamor Air Base, where he was joined by Kitty, his common-law wife Honeylet Avanceña, and others.
Later that day, still at Villamor Air Base, Kitty posted an Instagram story showing Torre giving the Duterte camp an ultimatum to choose three people to accompany the former president on a chartered flight to The Hague, Netherlands.
Kitty was heard in the video saying, “Sabihin niyo kung saan siya dalahin, t**** i** ka!”
(Tell us where you’re taking him, you s** of a b****!)
The social media post also has a caption, “They are taking him out on a plane by force without considering his health conditions.”
Aside from that, Kitty also posted a series of photos claiming her father was deprived of medical care and sufficient food while at the airbase and while en route to The Hague.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro denied such claims during a Palace briefing last Wednesday.
