Plane carrying former President Rodrigo Duterte lands in Dubai

INQUIRER.net has contacted Duterte’s camp to confirm if his flight has indeed landed in Dubai, but no replies have been made as of this posting.

The Gulfstream G550 jet, with tail No. RPC5219, took off at 11:03 p.m. on Tuesday with Duterte aboard, along with former Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, a nurse, and the former president’s personal assistant.

A government aviation source said the plane would make a refueling stop in Dubai before proceeding to The Hague.

Duterte was served an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court upon arriving at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport from Hong Kong.

The arrest warrant was issued on the grounds of alleged crimes against humanity he committed during the nationwide anti-illegal drug campaign launched during his administration.
