Marcos made the statement as he hosted Palauan President Surangel Whipps Jr. in Malacañang on Monday, with the two countries set to mark the 30th year of their diplomatic relations in 2027.

At their joint press conference, the President and Whipps committed to continuing engagements between their governments.

They discussed ongoing efforts to delimit maritime boundaries and enhance cooperation in the fisheries sector.

Labor cooperation was also tackled, with Marcos expressing optimism about finalizing a labor cooperation agreement that would enhance protections for around 4,000 Filipinos working in Palau.
