EXCLUSIVE: JR Tokai to Double Child Allowances
Nagoya (Jiji Press) — Central Japan Railway Co., or JR Tokai, is considering doubling monthly child allowances to 20,000 yen per child as part of efforts to support employees with children, people familiar with the matter told Jiji Press on Tuesday.
The company also plans to provide 200,000 yen in benefits for delivery for a first child, 300,000 yen for a second and 500,000 yen for a third and more. Currently, it offers a uniform 200,000 yen in such benefits.
JR Tokai will allow employees to take a leave of absence of up to two years for fertility treatment.
The railway operator plans to put those measures in place in July once it wins an agreement with its labor union.
