MANILA, Philippines — Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman expressed hope on Thursday that the 2025 Open Government Partnership (OGP) Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting (APRM) would inspire leaders in the region to engage in discussions that will improve the welfare of their citizens.
At a press conference on the sidelines of the OGP-APRM in Taguig City, Pangandaman was asked what innovations and reforms the Philippines would gain from the three-day event, which began on February 5.
“Second, get to know some best practices from our peers and just for us to be able to come up, to develop, and update our reforms,” she added.
It was the first time that the Philippines hosted the OGP-APRM.
This global and multi-stakeholder initiative is focused on fostering transparent leadership in local government units, civil society groups, and more.
It also aims to address global problems by sharing best practices and innovative solutions that enhance good governance in the Asia-Pacific.
