It will also coincide with the oathtaking for GTBA officers and awarding for their chosen “World Tourism Icon of the Year.” Last year, Malaysia ranked tenth in terms of visitor arrivals to the Philippines with over 95,000 tourists visiting the country.Meanwhile, only an estimated 360,000 travelers from the Philippines visited Malaysia in 2024 out of their 22.5 million tourist arrivals. “There’s plenty of room to improve our tourism ties with ASEAN neighbors. This is why we are prioritizing in making connections to numerous stakeholders across Southeast Asia in support of DOT’s and TPB’s international projects promoting the Philippines. We had our first travel exchange in Brunei last year as a start off point, and now we will create more business and networking opportunities from our partners in Malaysia with the help and support of Tourism Malaysia,” Taylan said.
