MANILA, Philippines —  First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos is “excited” and “a bit nervous” as she is set to represent the Philippines at the World Governments Summit 2025 from February 11 to 13 in Dubai.

“Excited [and a bit nervous 😬] when I received the invitation to be part of the World Governments Summit in Dubai two weeks from now,” she said in an Instagram post last January 31.

“We discussed several MOAs… including the progress of our Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement [CEPA] to advance the mutual prosperity of both our countries,” she added.

The Presidential Communications Office confirmed that the First Lady will attend the event instead of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

The World Governments Summit, established in 2013, aims to champion the mission of “shaping future governments and creating a better future for humanity.”

With this year’s theme, “Shaping Future Governments,” the event will gather government leaders, international organizations, and private sector leaders across the globe to boost international cooperation and come up with innovative solutions for future challenges.
