ICSET has a rich history, originating as the Asian Pacific Regional Conference (APRC) in 2003 at Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science, Taiwan, with initial participation from delegates from Thailand, the Philippines, Japan, and Korea. The conference then rotated through various countries, including the Philippines (University of the Philippines Diliman in 2006 and 2008), Thailand (Khon Kaen University in 2007 and Ubon Ratchathani University in 2010), Vietnam (Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 2009), Korea (Seoul National University in 2011), and Thailand again (King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi in 2012). In 2011, the conference formally became ICSET. After a necessary pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ICSET returns in 2025 with renewed purpose.
