MANILA, Philippines — Senator Sherwin Gatchalian on Sunday urged the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to call for a thorough and impartial investigation into the death of a Filipina, allegedly killed by her Slovenian husband.

“The DFA should assert the need for a thorough and impartial investigation in coordination with the Slovenian government to ensure that the perpetrator is held accountable and brought to justice,” Gatchalian said in a statement.

The victim, 27-year-old Marvil Facturan-Kocjančič, was reportedly killed by her husband, Mitja Kocjančič, while they were on holiday in the resort town of Bled, Slovenia, last December 29.
