Alice Guo’s petition for bail denied by Pasig court
MANILA, Philippines — Dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo’s (real name: Guo Hua Ping) petition for bail has been denied by a Pasig court.
Prosecutor-General Anthony Fadullon also confirmed the Pasig City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 167 ‘s dismissal of Guo’s petition to INQUIRER.net.
Based on a copy of the decision obtained by INQUIRER.net, the court cited strong evidence against Guo and her co-accused in the qualified human trafficking charges they are facing.
“The Petitions for Bail filed by accused Alice Leal Guo, Rita Sapnu Yturralde, Rowena Gonzales Evangelista, Thelma Barrogo Laranan, Merlie Joy Manalo Castro, Rachelle Joan Malonzo Carreon, and Jaimielyn Santos Cruz are denied considering that the evidence presented by the prosecution against them during the ball hearing is strong,” the decision read.
However, the court granted two of the co-accused’s petitions, namely, Jaimielyn Santos Cruz and Maybelline Requiro Millo, as the evidence against them was “not strong.”
