MANILA, Philippines—Another batch of 37 Filipino workers from conflict-stricken Syria arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Tuesday afternoon.

The repatriates, all women, arrived at around 4 p.m., on flight arrangements made by the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The DFA has announced it would do everything to extract Filipino workers staying in areas in Syria where violence has escalated between the government of President Bashar al-Assad and forces out to overthrow it.

The DFA earlier said many Filipinos in many parts of Syria not threatened by the fighting have opted to stay on in Syria to keep their jobs but the Philippine government said it would do everything to evacuate Filipinos from areas where violence has worsened.
