Rotary Club Bagumbayan Manila President Alvin Chu Teng leads outreach efforts with PBBM
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., alongside government officials and civic organizations, spearheaded a meaningful outreach program at Marillac Hills on Monday, bringing hope and support to vulnerable young girls under the care of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). Among the notable contributors was Rotary Club Bagumbayan Manila (RCBM) President Alvin Chu Teng, who played a pivotal role in the day’s activities.
President Alvin Chu Teng and the members of RCBM underscored their dedication to community service by distributing care packages and engaging with the children and staff at Marillac Hills. Teng’s leadership shone through as he reinforced the Rotary’s mission of transforming lives through service.
“At the Rotary Club Bagumbayan Manila, we believe in the transformative power of service and compassion. This outreach program is a reflection of our commitment to creating meaningful change, especially for the marginalized,” Teng remarked during the event.
The initiative was also supported by key officials, including DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Biazon, Congressman Jimmy Fresnedi, Undersecretary Josefina Romualdez, and NCR DSWD Regional Director Atty. Michael Lorico. Together, they spread holiday cheer by distributing essentials and festive treats to the children.
Following the Marillac Hills outreach, President Alvin Chu Teng extended his philanthropic efforts to Elsie Gatches Village, an orphanage in Alabang. There, Teng inaugurated a newly constructed medical outpost, a facility fully funded and donated under his leadership.
“This medical outpost represents a promise of better healthcare for the children of Elsie Gatches Village. It is both an honor and a responsibility to contribute to the well-being of those who need it most,” said Teng during the turnover ceremony.
The new facility aims to address the healthcare needs of the orphanage’s residents, a critical step in improving their quality of life. DSWD officials, orphanage staff, and residents expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Teng for his generosity and unwavering support for the underserved.
President Alvin Chu Teng’s dual contributions to Marillac Hills and Elsie Gatches Village exemplify the Rotary Club’s mission of “service above self.” His initiatives reflect both leadership and compassion, leaving a lasting impact on the communities he serves.
As the holiday season approaches, these outreach efforts highlight the importance of unity, generosity, and collective action — values deeply championed by both President Bongbong Marcos and President Alvin Chu Teng.
