MANILA, Philippines — Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo will represent the Philippines at the Group of Seven (G7) Ministerial Meeting in Italy.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said in a statement Tuesday that Manalo will be heading to Italy to participate in the expanded G7 Ministerial Meeting from November 25 to 26, upon the invitation of Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.

“Secretary Manalo is expected to exchange views on Indo-Pacific regional security with the Foreign Ministers of Italy, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States. The European Union is also represented at the G7 meetings,” said the DFA.

Meanwhile, the foreign affairs chief is also scheduled to meet with Archbishop Paul Gallagher, the Holy See’s Secretary for Relations with States.

Meetings with senior Italian officials to discuss bilateral cooperation are being arranged according to the DFA.

G7 is a group comprising the world’s advanced economies, including Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom, United States, and European Union.

According to DFA, Italy holds the rotating G7 presidency for 2024.
