Bong Suntay announces comeback to represent Quezon City’S 4th District
Former Quezon City 4th District Representative, Atty. Jesus “Bong” Suntay, is stepping back into the political arena, reaffirming his dedication to public service as he prepares for the upcoming Halalan 2025 elections.
Undeterred by the challenges of running against an incumbent, Suntay is energized by the overwhelming public sentiment calling for the “Return of Superman”—a nickname affectionately given to him by supporters. He’s determined to embrace this journey once again to serve his district with the same dedication he demonstrated in the past.
During his previous term, Suntay played a crucial role in leading his district through the COVID-19 pandemic. He was a steady guide for his constituents, ensuring their basic needs were met while working tirelessly within the ayuda system at both the national and local levels.
His career in legislating began as a councilor in 1998. This was when he realized the need for long term solutions to succeed in everyday problems. He pursued this path until he became District 4’s representative in the 18th Congress. His district work produced many of the infrastructure that we see today from health care centers, school buildings and basketball courts all the way to roads and bridges.
As a lawyer and legislator, he knew how the law works and what was needed to bring progress to all that he serves. “Lawyers see laws in practice which is useful in legislation,” Suntay said.
In the fight that is to come for the congressional seat of District 4, Suntay says, “nasa kanila man ang makinarya, nasa atin ang puso at tiwala ng mga tao. Isang malaking hamon ito at pagkakataon maiangat ang buhay ng mga taga-Distrito Kwatro. Tumakbo tayo hindi para sa away o ano pa man. Andito tayo para sabihin sa mga tao ng Distrito Kwatro na May Choice Ka.”
