MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has suspended for 90 days the driver’s license of a Korean national who went amuck at the Clark Freeport Zone last week and was later charged with attempted homicide, grave scandal, malicious mischief, resistance, and disobedience, as well as reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property.
LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II, in a statement on Monday, said the Korean, who was not identified, had also been ordered to appear before the agency’s regional office in Pampanga and submit a written explanation on his “reprehensible conduct that constitutes reckless driving.”

According to a Clark Development Corp. report, the Korean man allegedly works at a casino in Clark and had been on leave since Oct. 19.
It said that security guards approached the suspect after he was found naked inside his sport utility vehicle (SUV) parked near a hotel on C.M. Recto Highway around 5 a.m. on Oct. 31.
He then sped off, which resulted in a chase that was caught in a now-viral video where his SUV hit a motorcycle being driven by a security guard who was trying to stop him. Fortunately, the guard was not hurt.
The SUV was later cornered at a nearby gasoline station, where he deliberately hit a gasoline pump, which resulted in a fire that lasted for 15 minutes.
The Korean man was later treated for second-degree burns and placed under hospital arrest.
