MANILA, Philippines – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. returned to the Philippines Monday morning after gracing the inauguration of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.

Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos landed in Manila around 5 a.m., according to Communications Secretary Cesar Chavez.

The First Couple joined other world leaders in witnessing the Indonesian leaders’ inauguration at the House of Representatives Building in Jakarta.

They were invited by Prabowo’s predecessor, Joko Widodo, whose eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, became Indonesia’s youngest vice president.

Prabowo visited Manila last month and met with Marcos at Malacañang Palace in Manila, where they affirmed their vision for their nations’ greater ties.
