192 foreigners involved in online scams nabbed in Pasay

MANILA, Philippines — A total of 192 foreigners involved in online scams were arrested in Pasay City on Thursday, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Sunday.

According to the BI, the operation was conducted in a building along Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue Extension and Macapagal Boulevard.

“The mission was carried out in response to reports indicating the unauthorized employment and illegal activities of foreign nationals operating within the country,” BI’s statement read.

The operation was a collaboration between the National Bureau of Investigation, the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission, the Department of Justice – Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking, and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
