The Presidential Communications Office said the Chief Executive recalled the visit of Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in April, which the President said signified the “very strong connection” between the two Asian countries.

“We made a very strong connection. I think that will be always good for both our countries,” Marcos told the Qatari envoy.

In social media posts, the President also expressed regret that he cannot attend the ACD in Doha from Oct. 2 to Oct. 4.

The ACD is a forum composed of 35 Asian countries aimed at promoting Asian development, regional cooperation and unity.
