MANILA, Philippines — Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo’s (Guo Hua Ping) reported partner and “doppelgänger” both showed up at the Senate panel on women’s Tuesday probe into her alleged link to Philippine offshore gaming operators (Pogos).
Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada first tagged Sual, Pangasinan Mayor Dong Calugay into the investigation, showing “proof” that he and Guo are business partners and, in fact, in a relationship.
Both allegations raised by Estrada were denied by Guo on September 9 when she once again appeared before the chamber after her arrest in Indonesia.
Senate panel on women head Sen. Risa Hontiveros previously bared that an executive session at the upper chamber revealed Calugay’s possible involvement in Guo’s escape from Philippine jurisdiction.
The Hontiveros-led panel earlier ordered the issuance of a subpoena for Calugay after he repeatedly skipped the chamber’s hearings.
Calugay claimed that he had dengue at the time.
Meanwhile, another addition to the growing list of resource persons invited to the probe is Cath Salazar, Guo’s secretary and alleged doppelgänger.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) previously said that it is not ruling out the possibility that a “doppelgänger” of Guo might have been used as a decoy to mislead investigators into identifying the dismissed Bamban mayor’s location then.
