MANILA, Philippines — There is no discussion yet whether Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder Apollo Quiboloy will be extradited to the United States, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said on Wednesday.

“Actually we’re not there yet; hindi pa namin nadi-discuss ‘yun. Kasi, as far as we’re concerned, he has to face the music here,” said Remulla in a press briefing on Wednesday.

He added that it is not right for Quiboloy to slip out of the hands of local authorities again after their efforts to catch him.

On Tuesday, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said Quiboloy should first deal with cases filed against him in the Philippines before facing his charges in the US.

The sect leader and his subordinates are facing child abuse and human trafficking cases before the Davao City and Pasig City courts, respectively.

In the United States, Quiboloy is facing several criminal charges, including Conspiracy to Engage in Sex Trafficking by Force, Fraud and Coercion, and Sex Trafficking of Children; Sex Trafficking by Force, Fraud, and Coercion; Conspiracy; and Bulk Cash Smuggling.
