MANILA, Philippines — Dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo’s brother, Wesley, wanted to surrender to authorities but is just waiting for her advice, National Bureau of Investigation Director Jaime Santiago bared on Tuesday.

Wesley was identified as the boyfriend of Cassandra Li Ong, an incorporator of Whirlwind Corporation that leased land to Lucky South 99, a Philippine offshore gaming operator in Pampanga that was raided last June.

“Gusto na raw sumuko ni Wesley, hinihintay lang niya ang advice sa kanya ng ate niya. Eh nahuli na ang ate niya,” Santiago said at the Balitaan sa Harbor View media forum.

(Wesley supposedly wants to surrender, he’s just waiting for advice from his older sister. But his sister has been arrested.)

“Walang cell phone si Alice ngayon, paano niya mako-contact si Wesley? Eh nakay Wesley na ngayon ang bola kung susuko ba siya,” he added.

(Alice doesn’t have a cell phone right now, so how will she contact Wesley? The ball is now in Wesley’s court on whether he will surrender or not.)

Last Saturday, Interior Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. said local authorities are preparing for the possible surrender of Wesley.

“There is this ongoing [team] at inaayos na rin namin po yan ng (and we are already addressing it with) DILG (Department of the Interior and Local Government), PNP (Philippine National Police), and the other camp,” he said at a news forum.
