OFW shot dead in Manila

MANILA, Philippines—Village officials have cordoned off the area where a man was shot dead by still unidentified suspect here in Pandacan, Manila Thursday evening.

Yvette Jaeco, the wife of the victim, said that they were just walking along  Labores steet in Pandacan, Manila around 6 30 p.m., when he heard a gunshot and just saw his husband Orlando Jaleco, 31, fell on the ground wounded. His husband is an overseas worker.

They were in the area to buy barbeque, Yvette said.

While she wasn’t able to see who shot his husband, she said she was sure that the gunman shot her husband from the back, adding that she saw someone  alight from a jeepney.

“Naglalakad lang kami, tapos may bumaril na sa kanya. May bumaba sa jeep na  pero di ko alam kung yon. Mataba,”she said.

Jefferson allison, a volunteer from eagle squad who first assisted the couple after the incident said that the victim’s pulse was still strong, but eventually weakened after five minutes. He said he checked it twice.

He said that they asked people here to call for an ambulance but it still didn’t arrive as of posting time.

The victim was seen wearing a black t-shirt, jeans, and had a black shoe.
