MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Wednesday said the arrangements for the return of dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo (real name: Guo Hua Ping) is already being “finalized.”
Guo, who escaped the country in July amid her ties to illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operators was arrested in Jakarta, Indonesia at around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
“We’re already finalizing the arrangements for the return of Alice Guo back to the Philippines some time today,” said Marcos in a chance interview on the sidelines of a situation briefing in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

Meanwhile, when asked what his marching orders were upon the arrest of Guo, Marcos said that the government is now only implementing the legal orders received from the court.
“They don’t require marching orders, they’re doing, they’re implementing the legal orders that were sent to them by the court and that is to bring back the fugitive Alice Guo to the Philippines, so that is what they are doing,” he said.
Guo escaped with her supposed sibling Wesley Guo, along with Sheila Guo—previously tagged as Alice’s sister—and her business associate, Cassandra Li Ong.

Prior to Alice’s arrest, Sheila and Ong were already arrested in August and have been detained in the Senate and the House of Representatives, respectively.
Sheila told the Senate that they fled the Philippines by boat on the way to Malaysia.
